Ballistic 6.5

Optioned with Mercury 200 Verdao, Stainless Bimi Top, Carpet, Full Boat Cover

The past 10 months of Ballistic ownership has made life much more interesting and fun. We have thoroughly enjoyed showing off our very sleek looking 6.5m Rib around Sydney Harbour. It attracts many comments and questions which we happily field. The ability to stay so dry even in strong winds and choppy water's  constantly surprises us. Fuel consumption, safety, handling, and the general ability to manouevre and park/beach the boat anywhere makes it very user friendly.  A most recent highlight was going offshore to do some whale watching, which was absolutely  awesome and of course the boat handled even better than expected. We look forward to many more such adventures. Do  yourself a favour and talk to Andrew from Ballistic. ..!!!

Ballistic 6.5

Optioned with Honda 200 HP, Dual Helm Seat, Stainless Bimi Top, Carpet, FullBoat Cover.

My journey towards being a boat owner started nearly a year ago. I had decided to buy a RIB. But which one. What size?  From who? I started to do research and soon realised that there is a lot of choice and many different places that make them and sell them. Ukraine, Cypress, Turkey etc. I felt it made much more sense to buy a RIB that I could touch and feel before purchasing. I had concerns that if I bought from an overseas company and I had to put a deposit down that if the company went bust I would lose out financially. I contacted some local RIB dealers and went for a few test rides. Now I knew I really wanted a RIB but felt that I still had not found ‘the one’. Every person I spoke with knew something RIBS or someone who owned one. The most common response was ‘Get a Brig, they’re the best and everyone has them’. My research had indicated they were over-priced but dominated the Australia market with little strong competition. My research continued and I thought I was close to making a decision until I saw Ballistic Ribs. I telephoned and spoke with Andy Nevin. Instantly, I felt I was talking to a person that was as passionate about RIBS as me. Andy asked me to come and take a look at the first 2 RIBS he had recently imported into Australia. As soon as I saw them I noticed how much attention to detail and the quality of the boats was far superior to any other I had seen to date. There were a few things about the boat I wanted to change like remove the jockey seats and replace with bench seat and the colour of the tubes. No problem. Andy and I talked regularly about detail and he helped with every aspect including the engine (fairly important part). We decided to go with the Honda 200 as it was offering 7 years warranty. Also the colour of the engine was the right colour to match the boat! I really wanted to make sure that this RIB would be the envy of every other RIB owner and so Andy and I then discussed the Electronics for the dashboard. I ended up with a GPS Map/Fish Finder 8”, Fusion stereo and VHF radio. Finally we were ready to proceed and the boat was taken to Middle Harbour Marine to have the engine and electronics installed by Ross Cruickshank. Ross and Andy were as excited as I was! Andy introduced me to Whitworths Marine – my new favourite shop alongside Vintage Cellars and Bunnings. Finally, ‘Thirsty’ was ready to be delivered. No problem. Andy met me at Roseville and we dropped her into the water. What a stunning sight. We drove her to her new home at Sydney Boathouse dry-stack in Rozelle. In summary the whole experience in purchasing my RIB took me 6 months from start to finish and the result is that I have the prettiest RIB on the harbour and I have made a great new friend. Thanks Andy Nevin for all your help and support. I have no doubt we will be seeing plenty more of these Ballistics around the harbour soon.

Ballistic 3.3 Centre Console

Optioned with Mercury 20hp 4 Stroke, Full Boat Cover

I am the fortunate owner of a Ballistic 3.3 centre console. I looked in the market for several months for a tender for my Princess 45, dismissing all the bigger name brands as they were either too expensive for what they offered, or the hype didn’t live up to the reality. The Ballistic is a fast and dry ride and a very attractive tender and always draw positive comments either at the Marina or on anchor in Sydney Harbour. I would have no hesitation recommended the team at Ballistic Australia as your first point of call when you are in the market for a RIB.

Ballistic 6.0

Optioned with Mercury 150hp 4 Stroke, Full Custom Boat Cover

Ballistic's professionalism is impressive! I was looking for a comfortable RIB urgently for one of my important activities held in Sydney harbor. After detailed comparison of several big brands, I went to Ballistic. The first moment I saw the Ballistic 6.0, I directly fell in love with her - very compact design and useful equipment - which would be my ideal in-shore fishing boat. Realizing that I wanted to use my RIB the second day, Andrew managed to deliver my boat on water and when we arrived at my berth at Rose Bay, it was very late. Also, they helped me with repairing my boat cradle and upgrading my winch. As a customer, what I needed was not simply a boat. Ballistic truly understood this and provided their best service. I would like to recommend Ballistic as the NO.1 RIB dealer!

Ballistic 4.3

Optioned with Mercury 60hp  4 stroke

Who would think that a 4.3 meter inflatable could handle and perform like our Ballistic does. For her maiden voyage we towed her up to Port Stephens to explore the inland waterways, little did we know we’d end up cruising offshore to find a pod of dolphins, bait balls of fish and seals swimming and sun baking on Cabbage Tree Island. Overcast, raining and windy conditions weren’t going to stop us getting out on the water. Given we were the only boat at the ramp with no empty trailers in sight, we had second thoughts about heading out. That lasted about 3 seconds until our excitement overtook us and the four of us were cruising down river into Nelson Bay. After exploring around for a few hours the weather took a turn for the worst so we decided to call it a day. With a massive run out tide, half a meter following chop and 25 knots of south west wind, we were averaging 22 knots and just skipping over the waves like they were nothing. I have had her out in Sydney Harbour a few times now and am constantly blown away by how she handles. It just slices through the waves and doesn’t ‘bang’ making for a very comfortable ride. I keep having to remind myself that it is only 4.3 meters long! To say the least, I am very impressed with our boat and look forward to many more outings to come. Jervis Bay is next!
